Karly Baraga Werner, vice president, External Affairs for Midwest Region, has been recognized as a 2024 Notable Woman in Technology by Twin Cities Business.
The Notable series from Twin Cities Business features best-in-class executives across a range of industries in Minnesota. The leaders profiled in these categories are nominated by their peers at work and in the community.
According to the publication, nominees are “visionary leaders who excel in adapting to a rapidly evolving landscape. By driving technological advancements and mentoring the next generation of leaders, they ensure their organizations – from universities to medtech to manufacturers – remain at the cutting edge of innovation.”
Karly leads work with local community and government officials to ensure residents and businesses have access to Comcast’s next-generation broadband network and all the products and services Comcast has to offer, including in underserved and new areas of the Twin Cities.
Karly navigates regulatory challenges, advocating for business growth and negotiating government contracts on behalf of Comcast across more than 100 Minnesota communities.
She has facilitated partnerships between Comcast and various cities and counties, expanding high-speed broadband to rural areas in Washington, Anoka, and Hennepin counties, as well as to areas in Kansas and Missouri. Karly’s influence also secured millions in additional state grants, making these projects feasible.
