Last month, Comcast partnered with two Greater Kansas City area organizations, Islamic Circle of North America of Kansas City (ICNA) and MoKan Goodwill, to provide laptops to those in need.
“The focus for both organizations was to provide laptops to people that they deemed were the most in need,” says Jay Gottman, Director, Sales and Marketing in Greater Kansas City.
ICNA, specifically those using ICNA’s services, received 30 laptops, aiming to benefit low-income refugees new to Raytown, Missouri. The recipients primarily consisted of young families from Somalia, Afghanistan and Syria.
The organization’s mission is to alleviate human suffering by providing compassionate services to victims of adversities and survivors of disasters. It extends to building healthy communities, strengthening families, and creating opportunities for those in despair while maintaining their dignity.
Goodwill’s Mission in Action
Goodwill, with a commitment to identifying those with the most-urgent needs, concentrated on providing the PCs to refugees and families from Somalia with school-aged children. This aligns with Goodwill’s mission to empower people to discover their potential and adapt for the future through the power of work.
