Comcast is making it possible for all eligible xFi customers to bring a new level of protection to their connected home devices by making xFi Advanced Security available at no additional cost. XFi Advanced Security automatically protects devices from online threats, and will now be included free for customers who lease an xFi gateway.

There is no software download or additional set-up process other than logging into xFi via the mobile app or online. It’s a simple, easy way to protect wired and WiFi connected devices in the home, such as smart TVs and thermostats, or devices without keyboards or screens.

xFi is a simple, digital dashboard for Xfinity customers to control their home WiFi network.  In addition to parental control features like pausing WiFi and screen time scheduling, xFi provides content filters that ensure young children can only access age-appropriate content.

Comcast is the only provider to offer this advanced security service at no additional cost, which is a $72 annual value.

In addition, Comcast has announced that its next-generation, multi-gigabit speed xFi Advanced Gateway will begin rolling out to customers in the coming months. As the nation’s largest gigabit speed provider, Comcast is one of the first U.S. internet service providers to offer a WiFi 6 Certified gateway delivering faster speeds, ultimate capacity, lower latency and best-in-class WiFi coverage throughout the home.

The xFi Advanced Gateway is designed for high-performance users to handle greater capacity for even more smart home devices coming online today and in the future.  Xfinity Internet power users are already connecting an average of 50 devices in the home per month, with an additional 100 million smart home devices expected to be added to home networks globally by 2023.

Combined with xFi pods, customers can create their own personalized mesh WiFi networks throughout their home.
