Delivering Delight: Connecting Kids to the Magic of the Movies

Wicked: For Good screening

Patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City were treated to a very special private screening of Wicked: For Good earlier this week.

The event, presented in partnership with LOLLIPOP Theater Network and sponsored by Comcast NBC Universal, offered children receiving care a unique opportunity to experience the magic of the movies.

Children’s Mercy was the first pediatric hospital to unveil the yellow brick carpet for this event. Before the screening, patients walked the iconic yellow brick road carpet and joined a festive pre-movie party.

“Comcast is proud to have played a part in brightening the day of these amazing children,” said Matt Somach, Director of Enterprise Field Sales for Comcast’s Midwest Region, who attended the event along with Erin Miranda, an enterprise managed services account executive located in Kansas City. “Seeing their smiles and excitement reminded us why these moments matter—they bring joy, hope, and unforgettable memories.”

Since 2002, LOLLIPOP Theater has collaborated with leading motion picture studios to help bring the joy, magic, and momentary escape of the movies to children and their families who are receiving care at pediatric hospitals across the country.

In the future, they plan to share the magic at other hospitals nationwide. Click here to view a video of the event posted on social media, or see below.
