Spreading Cheer: Connecting Communities Over the Holiday Season

Comcast_2025 Holidays in Midwest

This holiday season, Comcast is doing what we do best — connecting communities across the Midwest. Not just with the fastest, most reliable broadband, but with acts of generosity that spread holiday cheer.

From supporting local families through the ‘Stuff the Sleigh’ toy drive with The Salvation Army, to doubling donations for Give to the Max Day, to sponsoring festive traditions and thanking first responders, we’re committed to making the season brighter for everyone. Because when we give back, we’re not just sharing gifts—we’re strengthening the connections that matter most. Learn more about these efforts, and how you can get involved, below.

Stuff the Sleigh to support Twin Cities Salvation Army

From Nov. 24 through Dec. 14, Comcast’s Xfinity is partnering with The Salvation Army and KSTP-TV (ABC) for the ‘Stuff the Sleigh’ toy drive.

To participate, drop off new, unwrapped toys at any of our 17 Xfinity retail stores. All toys will be donated to the Twin Cities Salvation Army. When you give a gift, you’re not just filling a sleigh, you’re fueling connections that matter. Find our store locations around Minnesota.

Give to Max donation supports Bountiful Basket Food Shelf

Bountiful Basket 2025

On Give to the Max Day, an annual fundraising event organized by GiveMN, Comcast announced a $10,000 matching gift donation to Bountiful Basket Food Shelf, which was subsequently matched by the non-profit’s Board of Directors. As a result, all Give to the Max donations were matched up to $20,000, doubling the impact of every gift.

“We are deeply grateful to Comcast and our Board of Directors for their incredible generosity,” said Patti Sinykin, Executive Director of Bountiful Basket. “Their leadership in creating this matching gift means donations will go twice as far to help families access the food they need. Their commitment not only supports our mission but also inspires others throughout our community to get involved and make a difference. This support is especially meaningful as we work to ensure that everyone can gather around a table and share a meal this Thanksgiving.”

With locations in both Cologne and Chaska, donations support Bountiful Basket stock shelves, expand food access, and provide hope and stability to neighbors facing food insecurity.

Holiday activities throughout Kansas, Missouri

As we continue to grow throughout the Greater Kansas City area we continue to show up for the community in ways that matter most to them, including:

Santa’s Village in Independence

Local families and residents in Independence, Mo., explored the wonderful world of Santa’s Village. The event, held on Nov. 21 and hosted by Independence Parks & Recreation and Comcast, gave attendees the chance to follow City Square’s lighting for games, color paper ornaments, take home goodie bags, and meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus!

Comcast provided paper ornaments for attendees to color at the Santa’s Village event held in Independence, Mo.

Mayor Christmas tree lighting and Santa visit in Paola
The Mayor’s Christmas tree lighting and Santa visit in Paola, Kan., is a cherished holiday tradition that brings together the local community for festive celebrations. The events, being held on Nov. 28, include a tree lighting ceremony, where the mayor lights the Christmas tree, along with a visit from Santa Claus to meet with children and families. Comcast is proud to supply a sweet treat to all who meet Santa.

Delivering cookies to first responders and firefighters
During the first week of December, the Comcast team will be delivering pastries from local bakeries to all 14 police and fire stations in Spring Hill, Paola, and Olathe, Kan. The gesture is just a small way to say thank you!
