Connecting Concordia: Community Celebrates Launch of Broadband Expansion 

Comcast was excited to celebrate its recent expansion into Concordia, Mo., by hosting a groundbreaking event at South Side Park.   

Concordia is part of Comcast’s six-city expansion in Missouri announced in March. The total project, which will span more than 300 miles and is planned to be completed by 2027, will double the company’s existing footprint in the state.    

The event was attended by Concordia Mayor Michael Brown, leaders of the Concordia Area Chamber of Commerce and community members. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and donuts from OG Donuts, a local donut shop.  

“This is a meaningful moment for Concordia,” said Mayor Brown. “We’re proud to welcome Comcast to our community and grateful for their investment in our future. Expanding access to reliable, high-speed connectivity isn’t just about technology — it’s about opportunity. It means our students can learn more easily, our businesses can grow, and our families can stay connected. This is a big step forward for everyone who calls Concordia home.”  

This project is an important part of Comcast’s rollout of multi-gig, symmetrical Internet speeds. It brings the company’s total investment in technology and infrastructure in Missouri to nearly $100 million over the past three years.
