Home Run for Educators: Teacher Appreciation Night Lights Up CHS Field

Comcast’s Midwest Region celebrated the hard work, dedication and impact of educators across Minnesota by hosting the fourth annual Teacher Appreciation Night at CHS Field in St. Paul, Minn.
In partnership with the St. Paul Saints and Tickets for Kids Charities, more than 250 metro area teachers and their guests received free tickets to the Saints game. And Comcast gave all the teachers in attendance lunch cooler bags filled with extra supplies for their classrooms.
“Our partnership with Comcast has been truly invaluable,” said Susan Murray, regional director of Tickets for Kids, Minnesota. “Not only has it allowed us to thank teachers for their incredible dedication to local kids, but it has also connected our organization to dozens of new schools and teachers over the past five years. Through these connections, thousands of under-resourced kids have been able to take part in field trips and hands-on educational opportunities that inspire learning and open doors to new possibilities.”

The game also marked the conclusion of Comcast’s season-long partnership with the Saints to show appreciation for community partners throughout the Twin Cities. For every double the Saints hit at CHS Field this season, Comcast donated $100 to a different local non-profit each month. A $2,600 donation was presented to Way to Grow for the month of September.
In total, the Midwest Region donated more than $10,000 to five different non-profit organizations over the course of the season, capped off by the honoring of all the deserving Minnesota educators.

“We’re so proud to celebrate educators who go above and beyond every day to inspire and empower our youth,” said Stacey Nelson-Kumar, Director of Community Impact for Comcast’s Midwest Region. “Teacher Appreciation Night is our way to say thank you while recognizing the incredible impact area teachers have on our communities. Their dedication shapes the future generation of learners, and we’re honored to support and uplift them.”
