Broadband Boost: Stillwater Township Celebrates Expansion Milestone

Comcast has grown its smart, fast, and reliable fiber Xfinity network to more than 600 homes and businesses in Stillwater Township, Minn.    

The network expansion project, which began in May of 2024, was completed in partnership with a grant from the Minnesota Office of Broadband, along with funding from Washington County and the Stillwater Township community.   

Comcast celebrated the project’s completion with a ribbon event held at Stillwater Town Hall attended by city, state and Washington County officials, the Office of Broadband, community members, and the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce. Attendees enjoyed food and refreshments from Chili Lime Food Truck.  

The expansion project brings Xfinity’s next generation network along with Internet, mobile, entertainment, and security services from Xfinity and Comcast Business to residents and businesses for the first time.    

Over the past three years, Comcast has invested more than $534 million in technology and infrastructure across Minnesota, including upgrades to its network and new construction. 

During the event, Comcast presented a $2,500 donation to Family Means, part of the company’s commitment to continuously invest in the local communities it serves. Based in Stillwater, the multi-service nonprofit organization offers a variety of essential services for area residents in need including counseling & therapy, employee assistance, youth development, financial and caregiving solutions, and more.
