Comcast Brings The Spirit of the Olympic Games to Action Day and Down for the Challenge

Comcast at United Way Greater Twin Cities Action Day.

Comcast proudly sponsored Action Day, a volunteer event at Target Center organized by Greater Twin Cities United Way (GTCUW). More than 40 Comcast employees volunteered to assemble over 800 backpacks, which will be distributed to more than 300 organizations across the Twin Cities metro area for the upcoming school year.

“We have always had an incredibly strong spirit of volunteerism at Comcast, which is why it’s not surprising Comcast employees jumped into action for the Greater Twin Cities United Way Action Day 2024,” said Kalyn Hove, regional senior vice president, Comcast Midwest and GTCUW Board member. “Comcast is proud to be a part of this event to help address educational disparities and ensure that students are set for a successful school year.”

Comcast also proudly sponsored The Salvation Army’s Down for the Challenge urban rappelling event and fundraiser event, where folks had the thrilling experience of rappelling down a 14-story building while raising money to support Salvation Army shelters and housing programs.

In addition to sponsoring the events, Comcast provided a one-of-a-kind experience that allowed all of the volunteers to experience the Olympic Games Paris 2024, taking place through Sunday, August 11. Volunteers were able to check out the Olympic Games Lounge, which included demos of Xfinity X1 and Peacock’s unparalleled viewing experience for the Games, giveaways, and a photo booth.
