On August 3rd, Comcast Midwest employees gathered at Target Field for United Way Action Day 2023, where thousands of backpacks were filled with donated school supplies. Over 30 volunteers, including family and friends, joined together to participate in this annual initiative to support 43,000 local students. This family friendly event allowed volunteers of all ages to provide prositive hand written encouraging notes that were placed inevery backpack along with a notebook, planner, pencils, pens, highlighters, a calculator, and a ruler.
Volunteerism and employee engagement is a focus for our Comcast employee through our reimagined program called Team UP. Team UP is a 365-day-a year effort to bring Comcast teams together and provide opportunities for everyone to get more involved in their local communities. Our reimagined approach to volunteerism allows for employees to serve their communities through traditional volunteering, give charitable donations to their favorite organizations, and grow their leadership skills through our non-profit board service trainings. This program is aligned with Project UP which is our comprehensive initiative to advance digital equity and help build a future of unlimited possibilities. Backed by a $1 billion commitment to reach tens of millions of people, Project UP encompasses the programs and community partnerships across Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Sky that connect people to the Internet, advance economic mobility, and open doors for the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers, and creators.
