Comcast Donates $2,500 to Community Services League Christmas Store

Community Services League Check Donation

Comcast has been a proud sponsor of the Community Services League (CSL), located in Independence, Missouri for nearly a decade. Earlier this week, Comcast donated $2,500 to the CSL for their annual Christmas Store. Each year hundreds of families in the Independence, Blue Springs, Oak Grove, Grain Valley and Buckner communities reach out to CSL for a little something to put under the tree on Christmas morning. Parents or legal guardians “shop” for one toy or gift for each child, age 18 and under. They choose from toys and gifts that have been donated to CSL. Families also receive underwear, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and a Holiday Food Box filled with the makings for a Christmas dinner and a turkey or ham.

Families in Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Oak Grove, or Buckner may call or visit their respective CSL office to sign up for Christmas assistance. Click here to find a list of CSL locations.

In addition, Families that live outside these areas should dial 2-1-1 to be connected to United Way, to help find a Christmas support agency in your area. The 2-1-1 helpline is answered 24 hours a day.

The mission of CSL is to assist communities in reaching their potential by providing immediate relief to people in need, assessing their situations, and providing solutions that lead to economic stability.
