For the second time in less than one year, Comcast RISE will award another $1 million in grants – $10,000 each – to 100 Twin Cities small businesses owned by people of color or women to help grow their businesses, create jobs, and play a vital role in supporting our communities. The application is open from June 1, and through June 14, here in the Twin Cities and includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington Counties. Recipients will be announced in late July.

In late 2020, Comcast launched Comcast RISE, a national effort to uplift and support local small businesses most negatively impacted by the pandemic. The focus was initially on small businesses owned by people of color, recognizing that these entrepreneurs were among the hardest hit. But, based on the data around how much women entrepreneurs were also impacted, we recently extended the eligibility to include all women-owned small businesses. To date, Comcast RISE has awarded grants and resources to more than 200 small businesses here in the Twin Cities through Comcast RISE.

“The Comcast RISE Investment Fund ensures that 100 small businesses that exist today continue to exist tomorrow,” said Kalyn Hove, Comcast Twin Cities Regional Senior Vice President. “The pandemic has created challenges and we continue to do everything we can to help businesses in our community until things get better. I highly encourage small businesses owned by people of color or women to take adventure of this wonderful opportunity provided by Comcast.”
