Millions of individuals and small businesses are affected by cybercrime every year, with an estimated 1 out of 3 adults in the United States impacted. Unfortunately, relatively few resources are currently available to help victims respond, recover and report an incident.
Comcast is partnering with Cybercrime Support Network (CSN) to deliver the tools and expertise to help law enforcement officials and the public fight back. Cybercrime Support Network connects victims to resources, increases cybercrime and online fraud reporting, and addresses the lack of available information through a national reporting structure.
With Comcast’s support, CSN was provided a vital opportunity to discuss their resources at the recent Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association’s 2019 Executive Training Institute (ETI) & Law Enforcement Expo, held April 14-17 in St Cloud. The annual gathering includes police chiefs and command staff from agencies and cities across the state, along with training to better educate city officials on the challenges facing law enforcement in the 21st century.
Cybercrime Support Network offers two key resources. https://comca.st/2GtkFZV is the first nationwide resource database developed specifically to help cybercrime and online fraud victims respond, report and recover. Harnessing 2-1-1 is a call/text/chat program utilizing the existing 2-1-1 national network as a toll-free reporting and triage line for victims of cybercrime.
With total reported single-year losses reaching $1.4 billion, cybercrime is a threat to every American. Comcast is proud to partner with Cybercrime Support Network and the law enforcement community to identify the sources of cybercrime and support those who have been impacted. For more, visit here.
