Comcast and NBCUniversal delivered the 2018 Olympic Winter Games to the world this past February, and we’re especially proud to have supported hometown athlete and Team USA gold medal winner Jessie Diggins! And now, we’re bringing you two opportunities to meet Jessie in person and help celebrate her incredible performances.
On Friday, May 11, Comcast will host Jessie Diggins at our Eagan Xfinity Store from 3 – 5 p.m. Fans will have an opportunity to meet Jessie in person and enter to win an autographed racing ski bib. The Eagan Xfinity Store is located in the Central Parks Common Shopping Center at 3325 Central Park Village Drive.
On Saturday, May 12, Comcast/Xfinity will join with the city of Afton for the official Jessie Diggins Day celebration – “Jessie Diggins, Bringing Home the Gold, sponsored by Xfinity.” It’s an afternoon of fun activities honoring Jessie and her hometown, beginning with a parade at noon, plus great food, face-painting, and the chance to meet Jessie in person in Afton Town Square, located at 3418 St. Croix Trail South.
Afton ice cream shop, Selma’s Parlour, is accepting specialty flavor suggestions to honor Jessie, with the winning name to be announced that afternoon. “We are celebrating Jessie in the same way we would want our own daughter welcomed home,” said Rebecca Nickerson, owner of Selma’s Ice Cream Parlour.
The city of Afton is located along the St. Croix River, east of the Twin Cities on 1-94 and south on St. Croix Trail. Festivities run from noon – 5 p.m. – we hope to see you there!
