Comcast Launches Residential 1-Gigabit Internet Service in Twin Cities

Comcast is excited to announce the introduction of a new internet service delivering speeds up to 1-gigabit-per-second (Gbps) to residential customers in two-dozen Twin Cities communities. These speeds are among the fastest and most widely available in the region and include access to the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network of more than 18 million hotspots. The phased activation of this service will deliver these same speeds to our entire Twin Cities area footprint over the next several months.

This new 1-gigabit service uses the connections already in customers’ homes – there’s no digging up streets or neighborhoods. This means more homes reached with gigabit speeds more quickly and in a way that allows connecting entire communities, not just select areas.

New and existing customers can order this 1-gigabit service, delivered via the Xfinity Advanced Gateway modem. There is no charge for the professional installation of this 1-gig service and no monthly fee for the modem. Customers also have the option of using their own compatible device. More information on availability and pricing is available at www.Xfinity.com/gig.
